PETALING JAYA: PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has successfully undergone a medical procedure.
"Thank God, the procedure was successful," Bachok MP Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman said in a Facebook post on Tuesday (June 17).
He said following the specialist's advice, visits are currently prohibited.
He also expressed gratitude for the prayers received and urging continued prayers for Abdul Hadi's recovery.
Earlier, Sinar Harian reported that the Marang MP was receiving treatment, as confirmed by his son, Muhammad Khalil who is Batu Buruk assemblyman.
Abdul Hadi, 77, has served as Marang MP since 1990 and is the longest-serving PAS president, having led the Islamist party since 2002.
In recent years, Hadi has had health issues and has been undergoing dialysis. He has also been hospitalised on multiple occasions.
